Tumor metastasis is the major source of cancer lethality. The diagnosis of cancer dissemination at the very early stage, the complete inhibition of tumor metastasis, and the eradication of cancer cells and cancer stem cells are three challenges in cancer therapy.
Solid tumor metastasis is a complex cellular procedure with diversities in translocation pathways, formats, plasticity and combination. The specific and accurate detection and identification of cancer cell metastasis pathways at the early stage will facilitate the diagnosis of cancer at the beginning.
